I have never colored my hair. I was tempted too once or twice but never did it and now I'm very glad.SchnauzerMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14169794494360415699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634196082642739025.post-44976726085249725892010-08-01T06:26:31.179-04:002010-08-01T06:26:31.179-04:00So it wasn't the brown itself but the repeat c...So it wasn't the brown itself but the repeat colorings that caused the damage then. I remember going through similar when I was coloring my hair. I have to be honest though and tell you that I thought the brown looked very natural and beautiful on you, especially with your blue eyes. If it had been a dark brown then I wouldn't be saying that but it was rather a nice and light brown...if memory serves (as time goes on, I forget more and more, alas). Still, I do know all the applications will have a not too pretty effect for the reasons you mentioned. I'm really tired of my grays but I just can't stand the merry-go-round of coloring...and constant coloring...that I would have to step on to get rid of it. I feel like I look so old! But you, my dear, I think are timeless and your hair is your crown.Autumn Leaveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04010044052621228719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3634196082642739025.post-2270933218456209832010-07-31T22:57:12.259-04:002010-07-31T22:57:12.259-04:00Franny, your story is similar to my own. On July 8...Franny, your story is similar to my own. On July 8th, 2008 I went to the hairdresser for a few highlights (I had used a box color, dark golden blonde, just a week before) My stylist proceeded to tell me that my hair was for too fragile and damaged from many years of coloring and she was afraid that highlights would cause even more damage. She suggested I go home and google short hairstyles instead, then come back for a good cut. I did go home and google short hair cuts and "stumbled" upon the GoingGrayLookingGreat website and the rest is history. I made the decision to give up the dye and just see what Mother Nature had in store for me. My hair is the healthiest it has ever been and I finally have some length back (I cut it "down to the wood" on December 22nd, 2008 to get rid of the last of the oxidized ends) I then found TLHC, thankfully, and have been growing my hair since. There are days when I look in the mirror and think....maybe just a few highlights....but then I chicken out!!LOL!! Thanks for sharing your story with us. I have certainly rambled on long enough...time for bed.lulujnoreply@blogger.com
